What this service covers
A quality installation starts before any equipment arrives: evaluating your home's cooling load, ductwork, insulation, and sun exposure so the new system is genuinely right-sized. Oversized units short-cycle and leave Charleston homes clammy; undersized units run flat-out and never catch up.
Installation day covers safe removal of the old equipment, correct refrigerant charging, condensate and electrical work to code, and full commissioning — verifying the system performs to manufacturer specification before we call it done.

What affects the price
Every home is different, so we quote in writing before work begins. The main factors:
- System capacity and efficiency rating (SEER2)
- Single-stage, two-stage, or variable-speed equipment
- Ductwork condition — repairs or modifications add scope
- Electrical, condensate, and code-compliance work the install requires
- Equipment location: attic, crawl space, closet, or elevated platforms in flood-zone homes
Repair or replace?
A useful rule of thumb: when a repair estimate approaches a large fraction of replacement cost on a system past its expected life, replacement usually wins.
Efficiency matters too — a modern variable-speed system can cool and dehumidify a Charleston home noticeably better than equipment from the early 2010s.
